Confirmation Statement Checklist — Free Pre-Filing Check for UK Directors

You have your Companies House authentication code

Required to file online. If lost, request a new one via WebFiling — takes 5–7 working days by post.

All directors and PSCs have verified their identity

From November 2025, identity verification is required before filing. You need your personal code.

You have your Companies House personal code ready

Issued after identity verification. Must be provided for each company separately.

Registered office address is correct

Check the address on your Companies House record. If it has changed, file an AD01 first.

Director details are up to date

Names, addresses, nationalities, occupations. If any have changed, file the relevant CH01/AP01/TM01 forms first.

Company secretary details are correct (if applicable)

Private companies don't need a company secretary. If you have one, check their details are current.

PSC register is accurate

People with significant control — anyone holding 25%+ of shares or voting rights. Check names, addresses, and nature of control.

Shareholder and share capital details are correct

Check total share capital, share classes, and shareholder names. File SH01 if shares have been allotted since your last statement.

SIC code (business activity) is still accurate

Your Standard Industrial Classification code describes your business activity. Update if your business focus has changed.

Registered email address is provided

Companies must now provide a registered email address to Companies House.

You can confirm the company's future activities will be lawful

A required declaration in the confirmation statement.

You have payment ready (£50 online / £110 paper)

Check current fee at GOV.UK. Credit/debit card or PayPal accepted for online filing.
